“THE PROJECT ON GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT“
“Lieutenant Colonel Daniel L. Davis was one of the earliest public critics inside the military speaking out about the mounting failures in the Afghanistan War. He went public with his assessment of the situation on the ground there in 2012, shortly after his return from his last deployment. [While still on active duty]
In his new book, Eleventh Hour in 2020 America: How America’s Foreign Policy Got Jacked Up – and How the Next Administration Can Fix It, he offers a new approach to American foreign policy that doesn’t see enemies in every corner of the globe.“

“He went public with his assessment of the situation on the ground there in 2012, shortly after his return from his last deployment.
For that, he received the Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling in 2012. He has gone on to become a prominent voice in Washington calling for a restrained foreign policy that would disentangle the United States from the endless wars that have come to characterize the 21st century.
Davis is now a senior fellow with Defense Priorities where he works to influence civilian and military leaders to end the wars stemming from the September 11 attacks, and to take a more constructive approach to world affairs. He also serves as a member of the military advisory board of the Center for Defense Information at the Project On Government Oversight. “
